SINISTER
Starting in1988. Sinister was a band that arose in the middle of the Death Metalhype.Hailing from Rotterdam iiiThe Netherlands,
Mike, Andrä, Aad en Ron joined forces and the Sinister sound was born. After releasing a demo, a promo tape followed.
Sending out the promo to various labels resulted in a record dealat NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS. GerMany 1991..
Their debut CD ‚CROSS THE STYX‘ saw the light in early 1992, and sold many copies worldwide.Many live shows all over Europe followed.
Touring with bands like SUFFOCATION, CANNIBAL CORPSE and DEICIDE helped to introduce Sinister to a larger public.
In the following years Sinister succeeded in maintaining their popularity by releasing their second and third album ‚DIABOLICAL SUMMONING‘ (1993)
and ‚HATE‘ (1995) and doing many live shows allover Europe, followedliy a very successful55 date tour allover the USA.
In the nineties more music was released. like BASTARD SAINTS (1996 live CD).Severalline-up changes followed and Led Sinister to write their
most aggressively brutaland intense album so far ‚AGGRESSIVE MEASURES‘ (1998). ‚CREATIVE KILLINGS‘ was released at HAMMERHEART RECORDS, September 2001:The album was promoted with shows in Russia. Belarus and a 26 date tour across the rest of Europe. In 2002, Sinister decided to join forces
again with NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS. This resulted in the release of their album’Savage or Grace‘. The album was massively promoted through shows in
Mexico. Columbia and a two-week tour with CANNIBAL CORPSE across Europe. After a short break-,Sinister reformed in March/April 2005 after receiving
countless letters from fans around the world. öfummer Aad left the seat behirifth’arjrn kit and started doing vocals. In 2006, ‚Afterburner‘ was released.
In 2008 Sinister signed with MASSACRE RECORDS which led to the recording of ‚THE SILENT HOWLING‘ (2008) and ‚LEGACY OF ASHES‘ (2010).
After a number of line up changes. Aad rectiiited his mates from project band ABSURD UNIVERSE and SUPREMEPAIN:Toep, Bastiaan,Mathijs and Dennis.
Putting the band together aggin with these guA was just as logicalas it could possibly be.In 2011. they started
recording their album ‚THE CARNAGE ENDING‘ which was met with much criticalacclaim internationally! ““

Sinister got a spot on the roster of Booking Agency ‚DISTRICT 19′, which is run by Roman Hödt.This was the beginning of great things to happen!
Sinister played big shows and festivals such a‘ the 70.000 TONS OF METAL CRUISE, HELL FEST, EXTREME HATEFESTIVAL BRAZIL and EINDHOVEN MEAL MEETING.
After touring the Balkanssand doingIpaily festival shows inItaly and Germany.Sinister did not rest but started writing songs for the monster album
‚THE POST-APOCALYPTIC SERVANT‘, which was released in 2014.They pronioted the CD with a tour in Australia and many club shows in Europe.

Sinister recorded a complete cover CD to celebrate the 25-year existence of the band. ,
When this CD entitled ‚DARK MEMORIALS‘ came out in 2015 it got a great response.In 2016,Sinister took to the road again and was
busy writing and recording new music, with ‚SYNCRETISM‘ as a result: a majestic dark album with 1007 pure Death metal!
SEPIROTH bass player Ghislain was recruited shortly after that. Tours followed around the world.
. Then, in 2019 Walter ‚Bokito‘ Tjwa who played in MANDATOR and RADIATHOR) joined Sinister; he and Aad had been
connected since the late eigthies and worked together on various projects in the past (a.o.PRELUDEHiCHAOS).
Not much later, Bram Willems took over bass duties from Ghistain who switched to guitarsjhe 14th studio album _
‚DEFORMATION OF THE HOLY REALM‘ was released on MASSACRE RECORDS in 2020 and then as we allknow, Covid-19 happened….
In that period the band played a few shows when and wherever it was allowed and worked on new materialin between.

Inquiring Blood
Im Jahr 2002 lernten sich der Schlagzeuger Florian Otten und der Gitarrist Marco Gronwald kennen, die zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch in zwei unterschiedlichen Bands spielten. Erst Ende 2003 traf man sich zu gemeinsamen Jam-Sessions.

Im Frühjahr 2004 holten sich die beiden Daniel Siebert in die Band, der damals noch den Bass bediente und improvisationsweise den Gesang übernommen hatte. Nach wenigen Proben wurde klar, dass er den Gesang komplett übernehmen sollte. Den Bass spielte zu diesem Zeitpunkt Fabian Ranft.

In dieser Besetzung nahm Inquiring Blood ihr erstes Demo Fear in Eigenregie auf sowie einen ersten Demo-Song Minefields im damaligen Goldfisch-Studio Hannover. Bei der Teilnahme zum Simevil.com Bandcontest vom Rock Hard im Jahr 2005 belegte die Band mit dem Song Minefields Platz 8 und kam als Beilage zum Rock Hard-Heft Nr. 217 auf den Heftsampler.

Ende 2005 übernahm Erik Hess (vorher bei Cripper) den Bass. Zu dieser Zeit entstand die Live-CD Live at TTD Festival, welche von Harris Johns produziert wurde. Außerdem wurde ab diesem Zeitpunkt auch an der EP Raping the Silence gearbeitet und 2006 bei Herman Frank im Studio Arena 20 produziert sowie im Jahr 2007 veröffentlicht.

Erik Hess verließ die Band 2008 und wurde Anfang 2009 durch Lars Robrecht ersetzt. In dieser Besetzung begannen die Arbeiten zum Studioalbum Born in a Grave, welches bei Florentin Adolf aufgenommen und 2010 veröffentlicht wurde.

2015 wurden Inquiring Blood vom Musikverlag Kernkraftritter-Records unter Vertrag genommen. Während das Label den Vertrieb von Born In A Grave übernahm, arbeitete die Band bereits an dessen Nachfolger Morbid Creation. Das Album Morbid Creation wurde im Winter 2015 im Institut für Wohlklangforschung eingespielt und anschließend im Kohlekeller Studio gemixt und gemastert.

In der Zeit zwischen den Produktionen spielte Inquiring Blood über 60 Liveauftritte in Clubs oder auf Festivals. Zu den Highlights zählten Supportauftritte für Kataklysm, Behemoth und Aborted (2007), The Haunted (2011), Aborted & Heretic Soul (2013), Eisregen (2014), Debauchery (2015 & 2016), sowie Destruction und Nervosa (2017).

Drill Star Autopsy
Der Mix aus Thrash- und Death Metal, den die Band hier spielt, leiht sich immer wieder Versatzstücke aus dem Modern Metal, wodurch sich ein heterogenes Gesamtbild ergibt. Zwei Bands aus dem eher modernen Sektor, die einem hier in den Sinn kommen, sind DRY KILL LOGIC und DEVILDRIVER. Wenn die Band ihr sauberes Melodic-Death-Metal-Riffing auspackt, wie in „Witness To War“, dann scheinen auch schwedische Einflüsse durch.

„This Tribal Antidote“ lässt dann SEPULTURA wohl nicht ganz ungewollt durchschimmern, zumindest in Sachen Songtitel und dem Beginn. „Wonderland Of Pain“ leiht sich den Breakdown bei FEAR FACTORY und fällt mit seinen nur knapp drei Minuten schon etwas arg kurz aus. Das etwas nichtssagende Interlude „Soul Cleansing“ leitet dann über zu den beiden Rausschmeißern „Driven By Hate“ und „You Suffer“, welche zusammen ebenfalls keine vier Minuten auf die Uhr bringen, dafür aber ordentlich Tempo haben. Letzteres könnte eine eigenwillige Coverversion von NAPALM DEATHs Kultsong sein.
