Die argentinische Future-\/ Synth- Popband HIDDEN SOULS<\/strong><\/a> hat ein neues Album am Start.
\nHier<\/a> k\u00f6nnt ihr unsere Review dazu finden und euch, falls noch nicht geschehen, ein ausf\u00fchrliches Bild davon machen.
\nIm Zusammenhang mit dem Release haben wir uns, coronakonform rein virtuell, mit einem Drittel der Band auf einen kleinen Schnack getroffen. Aus einem reinen Promotion Treff wurde ein sehr offenes und pers\u00f6nliches Gespr\u00e4ch, wie man es eigentlich nur intim unter guten Freunden f\u00fchrt. Dazu geh\u00f6rt auch ein Thema, welches wir hier<\/a> schon einmal behandelt haben. Wir danken GUILLERMO „WILLIAM“ PARDO NEIRA, der dieses Gespr\u00e4ch mit uns im Namen der Band HIDDEN SOULS gef\u00fchrt hat, daf\u00fcr ganz besonders.

Radio Schwarze Welle:<\/span> Hallo, Jungs, wir freuen uns, euch f\u00fcr dieses kleine Interview gewonnen zu haben. Wie geht es euch?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM\/ HIDDEN SOULS:<\/span> Es ist uns ein Vergn\u00fcgen und danke f\u00fcr eure Unterst\u00fctzung.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> Stellt Euch den Lesern doch bitte selbst kurz vor: wer seid ihr, wo kommt ihr her, wie und wann habt ihr euch zusammen gefunden und HIDDEN SOULS gegr\u00fcndet?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> Mein Name ist William, ich bin einer der Keyboarder von HIDDEN SOULS. Wir kommen aus Argentinien, aber ich lebe in Spanien, w\u00e4hrend Alex und Leo (S\u00e4nger) in Buenos Aires leben. Wir machen eine Kombination aus Dark-Synth-Pop-Musik. Alex und ich haben die Band gegr\u00fcndet. Am Anfang war die Band nur ein Hobby f\u00fcr uns. Auch hatten wir nicht genug Zeit, um in der Band zu arbeiten. Jetzt ist ein Vollzeitjob f\u00fcr mich. Wir hatten in der Vergangenheit mehrere Mitgliederwechsel. Als Leo vor 7 Jahren zur Band kam, dachten wir, es sei an der Zeit, einen Schritt nach vorne zu gehen und \u00abprofessionell\u00bb mit der Band zu arbeiten.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> Ihr habt 2018 euer Deb\u00fctalbum ver\u00f6ffentlicht und seid insbesondere durch euch Lyrics aufgefallen, die eine gute Beobachtungsgabe und eine knallharte Analytik offenbarten. Was hat dazu gef\u00fchrt, was hat euch zu dem gemacht, was ihr jetzt seid?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> Zuerst m\u00f6chte ich mich bedanken, denn nicht zu viele Leute sprechen \u00fcber die Texte und f\u00fcr mich sind die sehr wichtig. Ich habe eine besondere Art, die Welt und das Leben im Allgemeinen zu sehen. Man k\u00f6nnte sagen, ich sehe die Welt von der dunklen Seite, aber ich bin realistisch und ich denke, ich f\u00fchle \u201eein bisschen mehr\u201c als die gew\u00f6hnlichen Menschen, allerdings leide ich auch mehr. Also ist es gut, dar\u00fcber zu schreiben und Musik zu machen, aber es ist nicht so gut, es t\u00e4glich zu sp\u00fcren, wenn du wei\u00dft, was ich meine. Ich schreibe aus der Perspektive der Selbstreflexion. \u00dcber Werte, Liebe, Schmerz und Versagen. Der ewige Kampf zwischen Herz und Geist, von dem wir aber wissen, dass sie unzertrennlich sind.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> Ihr habt seitdem unter anderem eine Europatournee gemacht, wie wir alle die Pandemie durchlebt und lebt mittlerweile ja auch r\u00e4umlich weit getrennt voneinander. Wie funktioniert die Arbeit miteinander unter diesen Umst\u00e4nden und wieviel Einfluss hat das auf den kreativen Output?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> Es ist etwas schwierig, weil es nicht dasselbe ist, wie bei einer normalen Band. Aber wir haben einen Weg gefunden, aus der Ferne zu arbeiten. Virtuelles arbeiten bietet das Privileg, jederzeit zu arbeiten, aber das ist nicht dasselbe f\u00fcr eine Band, wie zusammen zu sitzen. Aber wir haben es geschafft! Ich habe mein Heimstudio in meiner Wohnung, sogar ein sehr professionelles. Also schicke ich die Demo-Songs an Leo und Alex (oder Alex schickt mir ein Demo) und wir reden dar\u00fcber. Dann nimmt Leo zwei oder drei verschiedene Versionen meines (schrecklichen!) Gesangs und dann macht er die letzten Arrangements damit. Sp\u00e4ter schicken wir den Song an unseren
\nProduzenten FERNANDO SANDE DALLAS. Das gr\u00f6\u00dfte Problem ist die Zeit, denn alles kostet viel Zeit und viel M\u00fche. Die Band ist jetzt wie ein gro\u00dfes Dreieck aus Alex & Leo, Fernando (Produzent) und mir.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> Anfang November erscheint euer neues Album \u201eAll That We Destroy\u201c<\/em> \u00fcber ECHOZONE. Bevor wir da detaillierter drauf eingehen, stellen wir ganz allgemein fest, das der Sound von HIDDEN SOULS etwas offener und breiter geworden ist. Das Album enth\u00e4lt deutliche Einfl\u00fcsse von Future Pop und Pop, w\u00e4hrend der dunkle Kern immer noch pr\u00e4sent ist. Was hat Euch und diese Entwicklung beeinflusst?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> In der Tat ist das neue Album mehr Synthpop als sein Vorg\u00e4nger und ich wei\u00df nicht warum, haha! Vermutlich, weil die letzten Jahre zu d\u00fcster waren. Letztes Jahr mussten wir alle Gigs wegen der Pandemie absagen. In den letzten Jahren spielten wir mit NITZER EBB, AND ONE, M.I.N.E., DIARY OF DREAMS, da ist es extrem schwer, zwei Jahre ohne ein einziges Konzert zu verbringen. Auch die \u00abStudioarbeit\u00bb war f\u00fcr uns nicht einfach. Vielleicht versuchten wir unbewusst, \u201eoptimistischer\u201c zu klingen, auch wenn die Texte oder die Akkorde noch ziemlich melancholisch oder d\u00fcster sind. Ich glaube, wir haben genug Dunkelheit um uns herum. Also, wie Bowie sagte: \u00abLet\u2019s dance!\u00bb, haha.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> Das Album wird durch den als Single bereits bekannten Song \u201eI Was There\u2026\u201c<\/em> er\u00f6ffnet. In dem durchaus sehr Future Poppigen Gewand steckt eine sehr d\u00fcstere Botschaft, der etwas Mystisches anhaftet und vielf\u00e4ltig interpretiert werden kann: gescheiterte Beziehung, Entt\u00e4uschung vom Leben, Fatalismus als Folge eines Blickes auf das aktuelle Weltgeschehen\u2026 \u00c4hnlich auch bei \u201eSomething\u201c<\/em>, was m\u00f6chtet ihr uns genau damit sagen?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> Wir haben viele Interviews gef\u00fchrt, aber ich glaube nicht, dass viele Leute \u00abdie Gef\u00fchle\u00bb von HIDDEN SOULS so verstanden haben, wie du es tust, vielen Dank auch daf\u00fcr! Beide Songs, \u201cI Was There\u2026\u201c und \u201eSomething\u201c sind sehr pers\u00f6nlich. Ich schrieb die Texte in nur ein paar Minuten, weil ich wirklich \u201eda war\u201c, wenn du verstehst, was ich meine. Genauso bei \u201eSomething\u201c, von dem wir denken, es ist der beste Song des Albums. Man merkt die intensiven Gef\u00fchle des Songs. Offensichtlich ist es kein kommerzieller Song und er hat keinen Refrain! Aber wir lieben es. Beide Songs handeln von der dunklen Seite des Lebens, wie du es gesagt hast! Genauer gesagt, eine gescheiterte Beziehung und eine klare Entt\u00e4uschung mit dem Leben allgemein.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> \u201eSinking in despair\u201c<\/em> klingt wie ein Hoffnung machender Zuspruch unter Depressiven. Ein Tabuthema, selbst in unserer Szene. Gibt es in der Band oder ihrem Umfeld F\u00e4lle von Depressionen und wenn ja, wie geht ihr damit um?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> Die psychische Gesundheit ist so wichtig, da hast du v\u00f6llig Recht. Wir haben ja bereits dar\u00fcber gesprochen, was wir \u00fcber die Pandemie-Situation der letzten paar Jahre, plus die wirtschaftlichen Probleme und den Krieg direkt um die Ecke denken. Wir leiden sehr darunter.<\/p>\n

In der Tat, es ist ein Tabuthema sogar in unserer Szene. Es ist sehr pers\u00f6nlich, aber ich kann dir sagen, dass ich einige Probleme in dieser Art habe. Ich hatte eine wirklich schlechte Zeit vor langer Zeit und ich habe wieder ein paar Probleme. Es sind keine Depressionen, aber ich habe ein paar Angstst\u00f6rungen und ich nehme Pillen. Es ist das erste Mal, dass ich dar\u00fcber rede, aber die Leute m\u00fcssen wissen, dass es okay ist, Probleme zu haben und es okay ist, dar\u00fcber zu reden.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> \u201eLoreley\u201c<\/em> ist eine wunderbar dunkle Interpretation einer sehr deutschen Weise, wie kam es dazu?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> Du wirst \u00fcberrascht sein, wenn ich dir erz\u00e4hle, wie oft ich nach Deutschland gereist bin, wie viele St\u00e4dte ich kenne und wie sehr ich eure Kultur liebe. Ich hatte die Musik, aber keine Texte. Also trank ich einen Kaffee mit meiner Frau und fing an, \u00abLoreleeey\u00bb zu singen. Und ich sagte zu ihr: \u201eLeider kenne ich kein M\u00e4dchen namens Loreley, haha\u201c. Und pl\u00f6tzlich erinnerte ich mich an den Rhein und Loreleys Mythos. Also hatte ich eine Melodie im Kopf und nachdem ich den Mythos wieder gelesen hatte, dachte ich, ich sollte die andere Seite der Geschichte schreiben. Ich meine die \u201eFreund\u201c- Sichtweise. Ich wollte der Geschichte etwas mehr hinzuf\u00fcgen, etwas Neues.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> \u201eAll That We Destroy\u201c<\/em> ist eine sehr treffliche Beschreibung des immer gleichen menschlichen Handelns. In Deutschland sagen wir \u201emit dem Arsch einrei\u00dfen, was wir mit den H\u00e4nden erschaffen haben\u201c, haben wir das richtig interpretiert?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> Ganz genau, du hast es erkannt! Das ist das Gef\u00fchl… Das ist es, was ich sehe. Ich ging durch Berlin und sah ein Loch in einem Teil der Berliner Mauer. Ich dachte, es w\u00e4re etwas ironisch. Weil ich durch das Loch sah und ich sah eine auf eine weitere Wand! Also sagte ich zu meiner Frau: \u00abEs spielt keine Rolle, wie viele Jahre wir versuchten, eine bessere Welt zu erschaffen. Schlie\u00dflich kommen wir immer wieder auf den gleichen traurigen Punkt zur\u00fcck. Weil etwas passiert und wir alles zerst\u00f6ren, was wir gemacht haben, alles, was wir aufgebaut haben, alles, was wir geschrieben haben.\u00bb Das Loch ist eine Metapher. Wenn ihr das Cover des Albums betrachtet, k\u00f6nnt ihr ein dunkles Geschenk durch das Loch sehen.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> Wir (die Autoren, Anm. der Red.) sind aus pers\u00f6nlichen Gr\u00fcnden sehr ergriffen von den Songs \u201eThe Song Of Unbelievers\u201c<\/em> und \u201eNobody\u201c<\/em>. M\u00f6chtet ihr auf diese Songs noch einmal eingehen?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> \u00abNobody\u00bb entspricht genau der Definition von Dark Synthpop. Man kann sagen, dass es auch eine Gothic- Atmosph\u00e4re hat. Das Duett funktioniert perfekt. Ich habe die Texte geschrieben und dabei an meine Eltern und mich gedacht. Sie sind Spanier, aber sie leben in Argentinien. Sie haben einige Probleme, wollen aber nicht zur\u00fcck nach Spanien ziehen. Und jedes Mal, wenn ich dorthin reise, wei\u00df ich nicht, ob es das letzte Mal ist, sie lebend zu sehen. \u201eThe Song Of Unbelievers\u201c beginnt mit einem Sample des Films \u201eDer Exorzist\u201c. Dieses Sample ist wie ein Manifest des Liedes. Ein Obdachloser sagte zu einem Priester: \u201eVater? K\u00f6nntest du einem alten Ministranten helfen? Ich bin Katholik\u201c. Ich ziehe es vor, an das Gute im Menschen zu glauben, als an \u201eeine h\u00f6here Macht\u201c. Egal, wie oft ich von anderen entt\u00e4uscht wurde. Ich glaube, niemand wird uns retten, au\u00dfer uns selbst oder unsere Lieben. Der Song beginnt mit einer d\u00fcsteren Industrial- Atmosph\u00e4re und pl\u00f6tzlich taucht ein Uptempo Song im COVENANT Style auf.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> Nach der bitterb\u00f6sen Synthpop- Hymne \u201eWe Are All Escapists\u201c<\/em> endet die Scheibe in dem tief betr\u00fcbten \u201eThe Void\u201c<\/em>, welches uns durchaus in einer gewissen Leere zur\u00fcckl\u00e4sst. Gibt es denn nichts mehr, was einem ein wenig Hoffnung auf den morgigen Tag machen kann?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> Ich glaube immer noch an Liebe und Wohlwollen. Und nat\u00fcrlich die Kraft der Musik!<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> Wir haben das Album hier in unserer Redaktion gefeiert und w\u00fcnschen euch viel Erfolg damit. Unsere Einsch\u00e4tzung zu dem Werk finden unsere Leser hier<\/a>. Wie geht es jetzt weiter, was habt ihr f\u00fcr die nahe Zukunft geplant?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> Dankesch\u00f6n! Wir werden 4 weitere Singles ver\u00f6ffentlichen, um das Album zu unterst\u00fctzen. Auch wollen wir n\u00e4chstes Jahr wieder auf Tour gehen. Wir brauchen jede Hilfe, die wir kriegen k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> In Bezug auf die letzte Frage noch einmal im Detail nachgehakt: Wie sieht es in S\u00fcdamerika, speziell Argentinien mit der schwarzen Szene aus? Gibt es dort \u00fcberhaupt eine? Wenn ja, wie gro\u00df ist sie und wie divers aufgestellt? Seid ihr dort gut unterwegs?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> Argentinien steckt in einer gro\u00dfen Krise, die schlimmste Krise aller Zeiten! Die Argentinier haben es dort sehr schwer. Die Regierung wertet die W\u00e4hrung fast jeden Monat ab. Wenn ihr also eine gro\u00dfe Krise habt, wird eure Gegenwart und eure Zukunft unterdr\u00fcckt. Es gibt ein paar Bands in Argentinien, aber leider ist die Synthpop- \/EBM- \/Dark- Szene zu klein. Wenn internationale Acts, also bekannte Bands nach Argentinien reisen, gehen viele Fans massiv zu den Konzerten und es ist eine ausgezeichnete Chance f\u00fcr Bands wie uns, unsere Arbeit dem lokalen Publikum vorzustellen. In Buenos Aires gibt es jedes Wochenende kleine Partys, mehr aber nicht. Es ist so schwierig, eine Band in S\u00fcdamerika zu haben.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> Wir bedanken uns recht herzlich f\u00fcr das Gespr\u00e4ch, w\u00fcnschen euch einen erfolgreichen Release und alles Gute f\u00fcr die Zukunft. The argentinian future\/synth-pop band HIDDEN SOULS<\/strong><\/a> has released a new album.
\nHere<\/a> you can find our review (sorry, german spell only) and, if not already done, get a detailed picture of it.
\nIn connection with the release, we met up with a third of the band, in a virtual way, on a small talk. A pure promotion meeting turned into a very open and personal conversation, which is actually only held in person among good friends. This also includes a subject which we have already dealt with here<\/a> (german only). Radio Schwarze Welle:<\/span> Hi there, guys, how are you? Nice to meet you for this little interview.<\/p>\n

WILLIAM\/ HIDDEN SOULS:<\/span> It\u2019s our pleasure. Thank you for your support!<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> Please introduce yourselves to our readers: who are you, where do you come from, when and how did you find yourself and form the band HIDDEN SOULS?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> My name is William, I\u2019m one of the keyboardist of HIDDEN SOULS. We\u2019re from Argentina but I\u2019m living in Spain while Alex and Leo (singer) are living in Buenos Aires. We make a combination of dark-synth pop music. Alex and I founded the band. In the very beginning, the band was just a hobby for us. Also we didn\u2019t have enough time to work in the band. Now is a full time job for me. We had several changes of members in the past. When Leo joined the band 7 years ago, we felt it was the right time to take a step forward and work with the band \u201cprofessionally\u201d.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> You released your debut album in 2018 and were particularly notable for your lyrics, which revealed a good sense of observation and a hard analysis. What led to this, what made you who you are now?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> First, I want to say thank you because not too many people talk about the lyrics and for me it\u2019s so important. I have a particular way of see the world and life in general. You could say that I see the world from a dark point of view but I\u2019m realistic and I think I feel \u201ca little bit more\u201d than the common people but I suffer more too. So, it\u2019s good to write, to make music, but it\u2019s not so good to feel it daily, if you know what I mean. I write from a self-reflection perspective. About values, love, pain and failures. The eternal struggle between the heart and the mind but we know they are inseparable.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> Since then, you\u2019ve made a European tour, how we all live through the pandemic and are now living far apart from each other. How does working with each other work under these circumstances and how much impact did all this have on the creative output?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> It\u2019s a little hard because it\u2019s not the same but we found the way to work remotely. Remote workers have the privilege of working at any time but it\u2019s not the same for a band. But we managed to do it! I have my home studio at my flat. A very professional one. So, I send the demo songs to Leo and Alex and we talk about it (or Alex send a Demo to me). Then, Leo records 2 or 3 different versions of my (horrible!) vocals and then, he makes the final vocal arrangements. Later on, we send the song to our producer Fernando Sande Dallas. The biggest problem is TIME. Because everything takes a lot of time and a lot of effort too. Because the band is like \u201ca big triangle\u201d now. Between Alex & Leo, Fernando (producer) and me.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> In early november your new album \u201cAll That We Destroy\u201d<\/em> will be released via ECHOZONE. Before we go into more detail, let\u2019s say in general that the sound of HIDDEN SOULS has become a little more open and broad. The album contains clear influences of future pop and pop, while the dark core is still present. What influenced you and this development?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> Indeed. The new album is more synthpop than its predecessor\u2026 and I don\u2019t know why! Hehe Because the last couple of years were too dark. We had to cancel all our gigs last year because of the pandemic situation. The last few years, we played with Nitzer Ebb, And One, M.I.N.E., Diary of Dreams and it was so hard to spend two years without playing any single concert. Even the \u201cstudio work\u201d wasn\u2019t easy for us. Maybe, unconsciously, we tried to sound more \u201coptimistic\u201d. Even if the lyrics or the chords still are quite melancholic or dark. I think we have enough darkness all around us. So, as Bowie said: \u201cLet\u2019s dance!\u201d hehe<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> The album is opened by the single \u201cI was there…\u201d<\/em> In the very Future Pop garment there is a very dark message, which is attached to something mystical and can be interpreted in many different ways: a failed relationship, disappointment with life, fatalism as a result of looking at current world events… Similarly with \u201cSomething\u201d<\/em>, what exactly do you want to tell us?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> We did a lot of interviews but I think not too many people caught the feelings of HIDDEN SOULS as you did. So, thank you for that too! Both songs, \u201cI Was There\u2026\u201d & \u201cSomething\u201d are too personal for me. I wrote the lyrics in just a couple of minutes because I really \u201cwas there\u201d, if you know what i mean. The same with \u201cSomething\u201d. We think this is the best song of the album. You can notice the intense feelings of the song. Obviously, it\u2019s not a commercial song. It has no chorus! But we love it. Both songs are about the darker side of life. You said so! Specifically, a failed relationship and a clear disappointment with life.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> \u201cSinking In Despair\u201d<\/em> sounds like a hopeful cheer among depressed people. A taboo subject, even in our scene. Are there any cases of depression in the band or its environment and if so, how do you deal with it?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> In general, we think that mental health is a very important topic. The mental health is so so so important, you are completely right. As we talked before, if we think about the pandemic situation the last couple of years, plus the economic problems and the war just around the corner, we\u2019re suffering too much nowadays. Indeed, it\u2019s a topic taboo even in our scene. It\u2019s so personal, but I can tell you that I have some problems. I spent a really bad time a long time ago but I\u2019m having some problems again. It\u2019s not a deep depression but I\u2019m having some \u201canxiety problems\u201d and I\u2019m taking pills. It\u2019s the first time I\u2019m talking about it but people need to know that it\u2019s ok to have problems and it’s OK to talk about them.<\/p>\n

When you look inside the mirror \/\/ you can feel how much it hurts \/\/ Sinking in despair<\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n

RSW:<\/span> \u201cLoreley\u201d<\/em> is a wonderfully dark interpretation of a very german traditional, how did it come about?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> You\u2019ll be surprise if I tell you how many times I traveled to germany, how many cities I know and how much I love your culture. I had the music but no lyrics. So, I was taking a coffee with my wife and I started to sing \u201cLoreleeey\u2026\u201d, and I said to her: \u201cSadly, I don\u2019t know any girl called Loreley hehe\u201d. And suddenly, I remembered the Rhine River and Loreley\u2019s myth. So, I had a melody in my mind and after reading again about the myth, i thought i should write the other side of the story. I mean, the \u201cboyfriend\u201d point of view. I wanted to add something more to the story, something new.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> \u201cAll That We Destroy\u201d<\/em> is a very good description of the same human action. In Germany, we say \u201ctear down with our asses what we have created with our hands\u201d, have we interpreted that correctly?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> Exactly! You are right! This is the feeling\u2026 This is what I see. I was walking in Berlin and I saw a hole in some part of the Berliner mauer. I thought it was a little ironic. Because I saw through the hole and i saw another wall! So, i said to my wife: „It doesn’t matter how many years we tried to make the world better. Finally, we always come back to the same sad point. Because something happens and we destroy everything we did… everything we build, everything we wrote“. The hole is a metaphor. If you see the cover of the album, you can see a dark present through the hole.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> We (the authors, editor\u2019s note) are very moved by the songs \u201cThe Song of Unbelievers\u201d<\/em> and \u201cNobody\u201d<\/em> for personal reasons, do you want to go back to those songs?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> \u201cNobody\u201d is the exactly definition of \u201cDark-Synthpop\u201d. We can say that it has a \u201cgoth\u201d atmosphere too. The duet works perfectly. I wrote the lyrics thinking about my parents and myself. They are living in Argentina but they are Spanish. They are having some problems but they don\u2019t want to move back to Spain. And every time I go there I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s the last time I\u2019m going to see them alive.
\nAbout \u201cThe Song of the Unbelievers\u201d. It starts with a sample of the movie \u201cThe Exorcist\u201d. This sample is like \u201ca manifesto\u201d of the song. A homeless man said to a priest: „Father? Could you help an old altar boy? I’m a Catholic“. I prefer to believe in the good in people than \u201ca higher power\u201d. No matter how many times I’ve been disappointed by others. I think no one will save us but ourselves or our loved ones. The song starts with a dark\/industrial atmosphere and an up-tempo \u201cCovenant style\u201d song suddenly emerges.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> After the bitterly evil synthpop anthem \u201cWe are all escapists\u201d<\/em> the record ends in the deeply sad \u201cThe Void\u201d<\/em>, which leaves us quite in certain emptiness. Is there nothing left to give you a little hope for tomorrow?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> I still believe in love and goodwill. And of course, the power of music!<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> We celebrated the album here in our editorial office and wish you a lot of success with it. Our readers can find our assessment of the work here<\/a> (german only). What\u2019s next, what are you planning for the near future?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> Thank you! We will release 4 more singles to support the album. Also, we want to Tour again next year. We need all the help we can get.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> With regard to the last question, let\u2019s look at it again in detail: What is the situation in South America, especially Argentina, with the black scene? Is there one there? If so, how big is it and how diverse is it? Are you all right there?<\/p>\n

WILLIAM:<\/span> Argentina is having a big big crisis… Worst crisis ever! Argentinian people are having a very hard time over there. So, there\u2019re a few bands in Argentina but sadly the\u201csynthpop\/EBM\/dark scene\u201d is too small. When international acts, \u201cknown bands\u201d go to Argentina, many fans go massively to the concerts and it’s an excellent chance for bands like us to show our work to the local public. In Buenos Aires, there’s small parties every weekend but nothing more. It’s so difficult to have a band in South America. The government makes a devaluation of the currency almost every single month. So, if you have a big crisis your present and your future will be downtrodden.<\/p>\n

RSW:<\/span> We thank you very much for the conversation, wish you a successful release and all the best for the future. We (the authors) had the pleasure of seeing you live in Germany as support for BEYOND OBSESSION<\/a> this year and would be happy to see you repeat such an experience soon.<\/p>\n
